| Tantalus |
| The lockable Tantalus shown on our web site were first seen in England around 1870. The word "Tantalus" comes from the word "Tantalise".

Their first, and most important use was in many of England's grandest houses. The Tantalus allowed the house owner a means of locking away their finest brandy and other sprits from the eager attention of their butlers, who often helped themselves to a 'tipple' after the master retired to bed!
Produced in a variety of shapes, woods and sizes, a Tantalus makes a wonderful gift for a wedding, or special anniversary |
